Thanks everyone!! Sorry not all of you were aware of my mom's situation. At the end of August she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was found early, and the lump was less than 1 cm. Since then God has brought an excellent healthcare team⋯⋯ for my mom and we have been so blessed.

Hi Everyone,
We are truly thankful for a very smooth and successful surgery day. My mom started with pre-surgery procedures this morning at 9 am, her surgery was at 3 pm, and by 9 pm we were leaving the hospital. Her doctor said that things were excellent, and they are very happy with how everything went. Right now she is recovering and feeling a bit sore and nauseous, but overall, she's feeling good. Praise God! They removed and tested two lymph nodes during the surgery and found them to be negative, so they did not need to remove any further lymph nodes. Now they will be testing the lymph nodes and the lump that was removed. It takes 10 days to test, so on Oct. 18th my mom will meet with her doctor to find out further details. But for now, it looks like the cancer has not spread and we are hopeful for the best. After she recovers from the surgery, the plan is she will begin radiation.
It's interesting to be on this side of the surgery...to now know what God has known all along...and to continue trusting him for the next steps of each day. In the midst of all this, God has been reminding me that throughout all this, he is using these experiences to reveal what's in my heart, and to teach me how to become more like Christ. I still have a lot to learn about trusting God, leaning on him, praying to him. It has been really amazing to watch my mom go through all of this and come out continually singing God's praises as he has led her through. Thank you for all your prayers and love and support. I have learned a lot from all of you about how God calls us to extend his love to each other in difficult times.
